Do you want to remove the physical drive or disable the drive?
To physically remove the drive make sure your computer is off and unplug the power cord so you don’t get zapped. Take off the side of the case, of course. The drive most likely has 2 cords connected to it, one looks like many different wires of different colors, the other a ribbon cable. Just unhook each of those from the back of the drive. If you have trouble reaching them, you can unscrew the drive. It is very easy. Make sure you have the right cords though. Just follow them back to the DVD drive.
