If you want to know if you’re officially meeting those requirements, the answer is: (1) yes, (2) no, (3) probably, (4) no.
The vast majority of games continue to be single-threaded. That means, they only look at one core at a time (and your cores are 2.0 GHz each).
Single-threaded games still run much faster on a dual core, but that’s because the normal Windows background processes can run on the second core, and not interfere with the game. But for those games, there’s no further benefit from adding a third or fourth core.
At too low of a clock speed, quad core processors can be pretty slow running games. Roughly 90% or more of games would run better on a Core 2 Duo at a higher clock speed, than a Core 2 Quad at a lower clock speed. (Like the difference between the somewhat lame Q8200 at 2.33 GHz, and the –cheaper –E7500 at 2.93 GHz.)
One of the worst quad cores was a Phenom X4 9150e, which, at 1.8 GHz per core, was a complete joke running games. People bought them thinking, because it’s a quad core, it would be fast. It was all a marketing trick.
